Wicks sweat 40% faster
Micro-gaps in the fibre pull moisture off skin and release it into the air. You stay dry through a Delhi summer commute.
The Fabric
Softer than cotton. Cooler than linen. Cleaner than polyester. This is the material science behind every Monocore T-shirt.
The Basics
Bamboo fabric is made from bamboo viscose — cellulose extracted from fast-growing bamboo and spun into an exceptionally fine, smooth yarn. We blend it with cotton for structure, giving every Monocore tee a 95% natural-fibre composition that is lab-tested and safe on skin.
The result is a fabric that feels closer to silk than to a regular T-shirt: soft, breathable, naturally odour-resistant, and built for the Indian climate.
Under the Microscope
Bamboo fibre is naturally round and smooth. Cotton fibre is angular, with rough edges that create friction against skin. You feel that difference every time you put a shirt on.

Micro-gaps in the fibre pull moisture off skin and release it into the air. You stay dry through a Delhi summer commute.
The same micro-gap structure lets air flow in while heat escapes. Bamboo self-regulates — cooler in summer, warmer in winter.
Odour-causing bacteria struggle to grow on bamboo fibre. No chemical treatment — the resistance is built into the plant.
Smooth, round fibres with no rough edges make bamboo gentle on sensitive and easily irritated skin. Lab-tested safe.
Bamboo fabric naturally filters UV radiation — protection cotton barely offers, without any coating or finish.
Tested to keep its shape, colour and softness for 40+ washes. The blend construction resists pilling and sagging.
Head to Head
We tested everything before betting the brand on bamboo. Eight categories. One clear winner.
| Property | Bamboo | Cotton | Polyester |
|---|---|---|---|
| Softness | ✓ 3× softer | Standard | Rough |
| Breathability | ✓ Excellent | Good | Poor |
| Odour resistance | ✓ Natural | None | None |
| Moisture wicking | ✓ 40% faster | Slow | Moderate |
| UV protection | ✓ Built in | Minimal | Moderate |
| Sustainability | ✓ Renewable | High water use | Petroleum-based |
| Skin friendly | ✓ Hypoallergenic | Can irritate | Synthetic |
| Temperature | ✓ Self-regulating | Warm only | Traps heat |
Bamboo wins 8 out of 8 categories. That is not marketing — that is material science. Round, smooth fibre means less friction, better airflow, and a shirt you reach for every single day.
The Planet Case
Bamboo self-regenerates from its own roots, needs no replanting and no pesticides, and absorbs more carbon than hardwood trees.
Our Fabric
Pure bamboo viscose is beautifully soft but loses structure over time. Blending it with cotton gives the fabric body and durability while keeping everything you love about bamboo.

Questions
Yes. Bamboo fibre is naturally round and smooth, while cotton fibre is angular with rough edges. Under a microscope the difference is clear — and on skin, bamboo feels up to 3× softer, with noticeably less friction.
It is one of the best fabrics for hot, humid weather. Bamboo fabric is highly breathable, wicks sweat about 40% faster than cotton, and its micro-gap structure helps regulate body temperature — cooler in summer, comfortable in winter.
Far less than cotton or polyester. Bamboo fibre is naturally odour-resistant, so bacteria that cause sweat smell find it harder to grow. Your T-shirt stays fresher through a full day of wear.
Monocore fabric is a 95% natural-fibre blend of bamboo viscose and cotton. Blending adds structure and durability while keeping the softness, breathability and odour resistance of bamboo. Every batch is lab-tested and safe on skin.
Machine wash cold with similar colours, and skip the bleach and fabric softener. Line-dry in shade for the longest life. Monocore bamboo tees are tested to hold their shape and softness for 40+ washes.
Bamboo is one of the most renewable crops on earth. It grows up to 91 cm a day, needs about one-third the water of cotton, grows without pesticides, and releases 35% more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees.
